All and each one shot is just a sample of the Bay style, a moment of Bay self-pleasure: high color saturation, car chases, explosions, airplanes and helicopters, more explosions, shots at slow motion, epic backlighting scenes of guys walking to a plane, or from something bathed in sunset light, nice sky shots, hot girls in underwear, more hot girls, schematic script with easy jokes and plain characters, more colorful car chases, blood, and an overall techno video-clip rhythm and stylism. Don't get me wrong, I am fine with all that. If I sit my arse on a Friday night, and play that movie in a relaxing netflixing night, I am totally aware of what it is.
The problem is that the movie is a nonsense. The messy montage, the lack of storyline and the uninteresting characters makes the entire movie hard to watch; in spite of the music, one-liners, gunfights, executions, blood and all sorts of vehicles at high speed, the movie is boring. And this is, precisely, the worst sin of a flick of this type: to be boring.
